SDP / Regional Center Alignment

Jump Start Your Life provides skills-based, educational support that can be aligned with individual goals within programs such as the Self-Determination Program (SDP), when appropriate and approved.

Services are designed to support independence, daily functioning, and real-world skill development.

HOW SERVICES ALIGN WITH SDP

Support is structured to be:

• Goal-oriented

• Skills-based and educational

• Focused on increasing independence

• Grounded in real-life application

• Designed with measurable progress in mind

Services may support goals related to:

• Emotional regulation

• Daily routines and time management

• Independent living skills

• Communication and social interaction

• Community participation

• Executive functioning and follow-through

All services are aligned with the individual’s approved plan and goals.

STRUCTURE AND APPROACH

When services are provided within SDP:

• Support is individualized based on the participant’s needs and goals

• Sessions are structured to support skill development and consistency

• Progress is tracked through observable skill-building and increased independence

• A gradual fade plan is incorporated as appropriate

The focus is on building skills that reduce long-term reliance on support.

WHAT SERVICES ARE NOT

To maintain clarity and compliance, services provided are:

• Not therapy

• Not medical or clinical treatment

• Not crisis or emergency services

• Not legal or financial advice

Support is educational and skills-based in nature.

COLLABORATION

When appropriate, services may be coordinated with:

• Independent Facilitators

• Families and caregivers

• Support teams and providers

The goal is to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment across the individual’s support system.

TRANSPARENCY

All services are:

• Clearly documented

• Aligned with approved goals

• Provided within program guidelines

• Structured to be reasonable and necessary

Final approval of services, structure, and hours is determined through the appropriate program process.

FOR FAMILIES AND TEAMS

If you are exploring services through SDP or another Regional Center program, support can be discussed in the context of:

• Individual goals

• Appropriate level of support

• Weekly structure and consistency

• Long-term independence outcomes
